Annual Citrus Sale
Help support the Reston Lions by participating in our annual fruit sale! We have partnered with Indian River Groves to provide you with the freshest fruit available. Your fruit will be harvested the very same day it's shipped to us, ensuring that you receive fruit that is hours off of the tree. Now that's fresh! Now's the time to pick up a box of Navel Oranges that are sure to be bursting with flavor or a box of sugar-sweet, Indian River Red Grapefruit. And don't forget your friends, family, and coworkers. Sight & Hearing Van Screenings
We participate in Health Fairs and special events screening infants to adults with vision acuity testing, hearing tests, and glaucoma screening. Contact us at sight@restonlions.org to schedule the van for your event.
James Bland Music Scholarship Competition
The Reston Lions Club has participated with Lions of Virginia for over 40 years in a progressive music scholarship competition named after James A. Bland--inventor of the 5-string banjo and composer of over 800 songs including the Virginia State Song Emeritus "Carry Me Back to Old Virginny."
Annual Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament
As part of our Annual Texas Hold'em Tournament Fundraising event we raise funds to help support a variety of charities each year. Recently we supported Foundation Fighting Blindness and Canine Companions for Independence. Our Tournament provided players an opportunity to compete for over $6,000 in prizes and to give back to the community in an afternoon of fun and competitive Texas Hold'em play. If you would like to join stay tuned. This event was suspended during the pandemic.
Adopt-a-Highway Roadside clean-up
The Reston Lions Club has "adopted" the portion of Sunset Hills Road between Wiehle Avenue and Hunter Mill Road as our cleanup location. Cleanups take place on a suitable Saturday in April and October. We also participate with the Reston Association in cleanup of local streams and runs.
Herndon Easter Egg Hunt
The Reston Lions Club partnered with Duck Donuts and other organizations to marshal the Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the Town of Herndon. The weather was great and we provided donuts and water to the enthusiastic participants!
